This is the newest addition to my "Mechanical Love Stories" ca 165 MPH 1948.
In the post war era of the forties and fifties, design and peoples priorities stated to change, Life became empowered. This piece is a reflexion of values of that time. The model name alone, Speedmatic, in a bold Hot Rod font speaks of what the manufacturer was telling the consumer, Set some records and stay out of my way.
